Welcome Back! We expect this, our 15th season, to be our most incredible ever!!
POLICIES and INFORMATION Please read this form carefully. Your signature indicates that you have read, understand and agree to comply with the policies of DANCE STUDIO “B”.
We would like to welcome all of our new students and let our returning students know we appreciate your patronage. A special Thank You to everyone for your continued support and for recommending our Studio to your friends and business associates. For each referral who registers with us, you get one lesson FREE the following month!
ENROLLMENT Is open to students ages 2 and up, regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin. DANCE STUDIO “B” reserves the right to cancel classes due to inadequate enrollment and to place students in classes according to age, maturity, physical and artistic abilities. Students are constantly evaluated to be sure they are in the proper class level for their abilities and are progressing as expected. We may make suggestions for additional classes or a class change. Any recommendations we make to you or your child are based on our professional opinion and experience and are made in the best interest of you or your child’s dance education.
FOR OUR RECORDS Registration requires the completion of a short form and signed waiver by the student’s legal guardian, to be completed each season. An annual, $25 non-refundable registration fee must accompany the registration form, $12.50 for each additional family member. Be sure you’ve filled out a registration form and signed and turned in your pink policy slip and waiver of liability forms before your first class.
TUITION Will be based on 10 months this year. Class rate is based on our months of dance services, not on the number of lessons. Dance services include instruction, choreography, costume coordination and the planning of various presentations throughout the season. Preferred method of payment is by Automatic Bank Draft and those choosing this method receive a $5 per month discount. Please provide a voided check with your signed bank draft form. Payment is not refundable nor is it discounted for classes missed, holidays or cancelled classes due to inclement weather. There will be no additional charge for five-week months or any extra classes or rehearsals. When more than one class per month is missed, they may be made up, if possible, in an equivalent class.
CHECKS While Automatic Bank Draft is the preferred method of payment for tuition, it is not required. However, due to the extra paperwork involved, those not paying by automatic draft are not eligible for the $5 per month tuition discount. A $5 Late Fee is accessed for tuition not paid at the first lesson each month. Recital Fee, Costume Deposit, dance gear, etc., may be paid by check or Automatic Draft. Please let us know which method you chose. Make checks payable to: DANCE STUDIO “B” and include the student’s name and reason for payment in the memo portion. There will be a $30 service charge for all checks returned by the bank. Any account that is more than 30 days delinquent will result in your child having to “sit out” of dance class until the account is brought up to date or other acceptable arrangements are made.
DRESS CODE It is imperative to be able to see and correct body lines and placement. Therefore, our students must adhere to the established dress code:
Hair should be pulled neatly back from the face and worn up, if possible. No big or oversized shirts may be worn during any dance class. Jewelry must not be worn during any class for safety reasons. Please label all shoes, clothing, dance bags, etc.… They will be easier to identify later.
No candy, gum, food or drink (other than water) are permitted in the dance rooms. In an effort to make the most of our space, all coats, jackets, sweaters, dance bags and book bags should be hung on hooks or placed in cubbies. Shoes, etc are not to be left lying around in the hallway as someone may trip over them. Students who were unable to attend our Open House, but still need to purchase dance wear are asked to do so before or after their scheduled class time.
YOUNG DANCERS Learning to be a part of a dance class means putting on your own dance shoes. Young dancers are encouraged to practice at home to do this in a timely manner. Please make sure to put your child’s name on ALL their belongings. Young dancers who are good listeners and try their very best will be rewarded with a hand stamp. Please note, stamps have to be earned and may not always be given to everybody.
OBSERVATION Parents are invited but not required to stay and observe classes from outside the dance room. “Parents Week” offers an opportunity to observe your child’s classes and note their progress. Videos and cameras are welcome and parents are invited to participate.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE Students should arrive for class 5-10 minutes prior to class time and should be picked up promptly. Please inform us ahead of time if any student needs to be picked up before class is over. Parents should not interrupt teachers during their classes. Each dancer will need to be dropped off and picked up at the studio entrance. They are not permitted to move about the mall unattended.
PARKING Please follow mall parking policies.
WEATHER In the event of bad weather, closings will be listed on TV station WRAL-5 or radio stations 99.3 or 95.5 and also on the studio website, www.DanceStudioB.com
SCHEDULE Every effort is made to follow our time schedule. Your help is greatly appreciated. Please arrive at the studio early enough to begin class promptly. Students are encouraged to use the restroom before class begins so that we may spend class time “dancing”. Dancers are expected to enter their assigned dance room ready to dance with dance attire, including shoes, already on. Dancers’ belongings should be placed in a cubby while they are in class. Classes are scheduled to run 55 minutes in an effort to start the next class on time. Though sometimes our enthusiasm gets the better of us and we may run over, please make every effort to come inside and pick up your young dancer on time.
PARENT-TO-STUDIO COMMUNICATION Parental communication is key, but difficult during class time. All questions should be directed to the assistant on duty, put in writing and placed in the payment box, or left as a voicemail. Every effort will be made to answer your inquiry in a timely manner.
WHAT’S HAPPENING? In order to be “in the know” as to studio happenings, please utilize our many methods of communication: (1) visit our webpage at www.dancestudiob.com and sign up to receive our monthly e-newsletter, (2) check your emails frequently for updates between newsletters, (3) come in the studio at least once a month to pick up any papers with your child’s name on them, (4) check our bulletin board or calendar for the latest scoop.
QUESTIONS Please direct any questions or concerns that may arise to either Ms. Trish or your dance teacher as they are your # 1 best source of accurate information.
TERMINATION DANCE STUDIO “B” reserves the right to terminate the dance instruction of any student at any time, with or without a cause. DANCE STUDIO ”B” agrees to refund any unearned tuition. In the event that a student is terminated for a cause, then no refund of tuition shall be made. Cause for termination shall be defined to include any action by a student or parent of a student which conflicts with the stated policies of DANCE STUDIO “B” or any action by a student or parent of a student which is determined by DANCE STUDIO “B”, to endanger the students and/or staff at our school.
A PERSONAL NOTE You and your child are very important to us. We are always willing to listen and talk. Any time you want to speak to your child’s teacher, please leave a message on our answering machine and the teacher will contact you. This will make it possible for us to run on schedule and allow the teacher and parent to have a less rushed, more productive, private conversation.
