Yusra

Being of Middle Eastern heritage it was only natural that Yusra began bellydancing at age 3. She continued dancing all the way through school and even helped pay the college bills by doing bellygrams. She then took a break from dancing while she raised her family, but in 1999, at the encouragement of a friend she began teaching bellydance at Dance Studio B. She quickly realized how much she missed it, and hasn't stopped since.

As a founding member of Raq Mundi, Raq Taliba & Twysted Gypsy she has enjoyed watching dancers of all shapes, ages, races, economic levels, and yes, even sexes bond as she has helped pass on her love of the dance.

Yusra currently teaches Level 2 bellydance at Wilson Community College, and in 2007 co-founded Shimmy for a Cause, an annual charity event featuring dancers from across the Mid-Atlantic region.
