THE DIRECTOR...

Patricia K. Bradshaw, owner and director of Dance Studio "B" has been performing, teaching, choreographing and directing various dance groups for years. Growing up in her Mother's dance studio, Miss Trish first started performing at the age of two. She continued her formal training at Trenton State College, in NJ, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education with an Emphasis in Dance. Her final semester was spent at California State University, Chico. Locally, she has taught Physical Education and Music in Wilson County School's.  In addition to teaching she has choreographed and/or performed in numerous musical productions put on by A.C.T. For Youth, The Playhouse and Theater At Barton. Ms. Trish feels extremely fortunate to make a living doing what she loves.

Ballet/Pointe & Jazz...

Kristy Berry started attending dance at the age of five. She studied various forms of dance at Artistic Dance Center, including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Lyrical. By the age of ten she decided to make a serious commitment to the art and auditioned for ADC's competition group. This group attended several regional and coastal competitions such as March of Dimes, Accent on Youth and Dance Masters of America National Competition and master classes in New York City. As a result, Ms. Kristy has been able to study with teachers like Frank Hatchet and Bob Rizzo.

Much of Ms. Kristy's focus, through her years has been centered on Ballet. Raised in the Cecchetti method, Ms. Kristy was examined at every level. In 1997 she completed her Professional Grade V exam. Also, in 1997, she began teaching dance for the Frederick County YMCA. She taught students from a motor skills, Ballet and Jazz. In 1999 she moved to NC to attend Barton College. Here she met Ms Trish and was named Dance Captain of the next three musicals they worked on together. In 2001 Ms. Kristy began teaching Ballet at Dance Studio "B". We are very excited to welcome her back for a eighth season.

Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop

Natali Davis studied dance for the past 17 years. 10 of these have been spent at Dance Studio "B" where she still takes weekly classes in an effort to be the best dancer she can be. Natali is best remembered for her portrayal of "Cinderella" in our 12th annual recital, "If The Shoe Fits, Dance In It". Anyone who meets her falls in love with her warm personality and enthusiasm for dance.

After 1 year at UNCG we were thrilled she transferred back to Barton where she majors in Special Ed and Psychology. Though Natali has studied Ballet, Ponte, Jazz,Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap and Clogging, she is currently celebrating her third season with us teaching weekly classes in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop.

Belly Dance

Shelley Dandanell began dancing 7 years ago.  Like so many others, just one class was all it took and she was hooked.  Shelley now teaches Beginning Belly Dancing at Dance Studio B, Bellydance for Fitness at the Wilson YMCA and performs with Raq Mundi.

Acrobatics, Ballet, Jazz and Tap

Bruce Howard has been teaching dance for the last 30 years and taking dance since the age of 3. He started his training under Jaquline Dorminy at Dorminy Dance Studios; where she made available teachers such as Josef Levinoff, Dorthy Lister, Mallory Graham (her artist in residence) Al Gilbert, and Tommie Walsh. During the summers, he attended the NC School of The Arts as well as dance seminars sponsored by Dance Caravan, PDTA, NADDA, Dance Masters and Dance Educators. He also consistently attended Al Gilbert's intensive dance training program held at Saint Angus College. Jaquline Dorminy stressed the idea that a dancer dances no matter what form. She insisted that all her instructors where competent in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Gymnastic/Acrobatics; a philosophy Mr. Howard believes to this day.

Bruce has participated in professional and amateur Musical Comedy Theater. He has been in commercials as well as industrial shows, but always instructing. Mr. Howard belongs to PDTA (Professional Dance Teachers Association) and is a certified teacher of Dance Masters. He set up the Snappy Tappers program (a senior citizens performance group) in the Triad as well as being on call to coach and choreograph several young entertainers. Whether as a choreographer or guest teacher he tries to pass on the knowledge and love of the Art.
